AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has once again reminded the need of proting population. Naidu speaking at an event said there was need to “promote population” in the country keeping in tune with the “changing trends”. “Till now our focus was on population control. But the trend has changed and from now we have to promote population. Developed countries like Japan and China are facing problems because of aged population.
Now they are also going for population promotion. From few years the trend has changed and we need to promote the population” Speaking further Naidu said the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) and Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) were showing steady decline in the state.
Naidu launched four health schemes including ‘Chandranna Samchara Chikitsa’, a mobile health service facility for rural areas. Few days before Naidu has drawn flak from political parties for his remark calling people to have more children.
